These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of ridgegrit.com (the “Site”) and any purchase you make from Rockridge Grit (“Rockridge Grit,” “we,” “us” or “our”). By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we serve
Rockridge Grit is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and sells only to customers in the United States. We accept orders only with a billing and shipping address in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. If you are younger, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
2. Products and descriptions
We sell rock tumbling media and supplies, including silicon carbide grit, polishes, stainless steel shot, spacers, kits and accessories. We try to describe and photograph every product accurately, but colors, grain appearance and packaging may vary slightly from what you see on screen, and listed weights are approximate within normal packing tolerances.
Tumbling results depend on many things outside our control, including the stones, glass or metal you tumble, your tumbler, load size, water, run time and how carefully you clean between stages. Guides, schedules and recommendations on the Site, including our instruction pages and blog, are general information only and do not guarantee a particular finish.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are in U.S. dollars. Prices, promotions and product availability may change at any time without notice. We make every effort to show correct prices, but errors can happen. If a product is listed at an incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund any amount charged, or contact you to confirm the correct price before shipping.
Payment is due when you place your order. By submitting payment information, you confirm that you are authorized to use that payment method. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors, and we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
4. Sales tax
We collect sales tax where required by law, based on your shipping address. Any applicable tax is shown at checkout before you complete your order.
5. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we ship it. The order confirmation email only confirms that we received your order. We may refuse or cancel any order, or limit quantities, for reasons such as product availability, pricing or description errors, or suspected fraud or unauthorized activity. If we cancel an order after you have been charged, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method.
6. Shipping and delivery
We ship only to addresses in the United States. Shipping charges and any available delivery options are shown at checkout. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees, and carrier delays are outside our control. Please make sure your shipping address is complete and correct. We are not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address that was entered at checkout.
If your package arrives damaged, appears lost in transit, or contains the wrong item, contact us promptly at support@ridgegrit.com so we can help make it right.
7. Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds are handled under our Refund & Returns Policy, which is part of these Terms.
8. Safe use of our products
Our products are supplies for hobby rock, glass and metal tumbling. They are not food, toys or medical products. By buying them, you agree to use them as intended and to follow safe handling practices, including:
- Keep grit, polish and steel shot away from children and pets, and never swallow them.
- Avoid breathing dry grit and polish dust. Pour and measure gently, and consider a dust mask when handling dry powders.
- Do not pour used grit slurry down sinks or household drains. It can settle and clog plumbing. Let it settle and dispose of the solids in household trash.
- Follow the instructions and safety warnings from your tumbler’s manufacturer.
We are not responsible for damage to tumblers, barrels, plumbing or materials, or for injury, that results from misuse, from failing to follow safe handling practices, or from using our products in equipment or for purposes they were not intended for.
9. Your account
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for any activity under your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Let us know right away at support@ridgegrit.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Messages, reviews and other submissions
When you send us a message, a review, photos or other content, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate and lawful. You give Rockridge Grit a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce and display that content in connection with our business, such as responding to you or featuring a review on the Site. We may remove any submission at our discretion.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Site for any unlawful purpose or to place fraudulent orders;
- try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers or other users’ accounts;
- interfere with the Site’s operation, including by introducing malware or sending excessive automated requests;
- scrape, copy or resell Site content or products for commercial purposes without our written permission.
12. Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, instructions, photographs, graphics, logos and the Rockridge Grit name, belong to Rockridge Grit or its licensors and are protected by U.S. copyright and trademark laws. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our prior written permission.
13. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to or rely on websites and services we do not control, such as payment processors and shipping carriers. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
Except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law, the Site and all products are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rockridge Grit disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some states do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rockridge Grit and its owners, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or materials, arising from your use of the Site or our products. Our total liability for any claim related to an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rockridge Grit and its owners and employees from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arise from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or our products.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, please contact us first at support@ridgegrit.com. Most issues can be resolved quickly and informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in El Paso County, Colorado, and you and Rockridge Grit consent to the jurisdiction of those courts, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere, including in small claims court.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date above will change. The Terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order.
19. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with our Refund & Returns Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Rockridge Grit about your use of the Site and your purchases.
